Prof. Dr. Karen Jambazov

Prof. Dr. Karen Jambazov is an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist with over 30 years of professional experience. He is currently the Executive Director of the “St. George” University Hospital and the Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University – Plovdiv. Over the years, he has held key positions in the healthcare sector, including National Consultant and Chief Coordinator of the Expert Council on ENT Diseases at the Ministry of Health.

His areas of specialization include microendoscopic sinus surgery, rhinology, endoscopy, and reconstructive surgery. He holds a Master’s degree in Medicine (M.D.) and a Master’s in Health Management from the Medical University – Plovdiv. He has an extensive academic career with numerous publications, participation in scientific projects, and supervision of PhD students. He has led courses and performed surgeries both in Bulgaria and internationally.

  • 2023 – Present – Participation as a lecturer and surgeon in live surgery courses for endoscopic dissection and surgery of the nose, paranasal sinuses, lacrimal pathways, and temporal bones.
  • 2019 – Present – Chief Coordinator of the Expert Council on ENT Diseases to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bulgaria.
  • 2014 – Present – President of the Bulgarian National Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
